If you are in need of dental treatment you can self-refer to the University of Suffolk Dental CIC by calling 01473 957 010 or receive a referral through NHS 111.

For children in need of dental services, please ring us direct on 01473 957 010 or call NHS 111 outside of our opening hours.

We are committed to oral health care to ensure that everyone has a smile that they are proud of.

We will aim to provide treatment options that are clinically appropriate for individual patient circumstances.

  • Advice, dental charting, diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Radiographs
  • Instruction in the prevention of dental and oral disease, including dietary advice and dental hygiene instruction
  • Topical fluoride
  • Scaling and polishing
  • Adjustments to dentures or orthodontic appliances

Frequently asked questions

Ring NHS 111 immediately if you have a dental emergency – this can include severe toothache, gum pain, sudden injury to teeth or your mouth or painful ulcers that have been in your mouth for more than three weeks. If you're unsure whether you have a dental emergency or need urgent treatment, visit the NHS 111 website.

For adults, an urgent dental treatment will cost £26.80, unless you’re entitled to free NHS dental treatment. If you’re asked to come back for further treatment, this will be considered to be a separate course of non-urgent treatment. If you have severe toothache, immediately call NHS 111 for an emergency or urgent appointment. While you wait, avoid eating hard or chewy food, apply a cold compress ad take an over-the-counter pain reliever.

If an adult tooth is knocked out, try and place it back in the socket as soon as possible and contact your dentist or NHS 111 immediately. If you can't put an adult tooth back into the socket, place it in milk and contact your dental practice or NHS 111 immediately.

It is important to remember that you are in safe and qualified hands when visiting for an emergency or urgent treatment. We recommend communicating your anxiety with the dentists so that they can support you, using breathing techniques and bringing a friend or family member if possible.
